Villa Training Center starts a Dive Master Training Course for Maldivians at Sun Island Resort and Spa.
The Newly opened Villa Training Center at Sun Island Resort & Spa commenced training the first batch of 08 Maldivian PADI Dive Masters on 10th of December 2006, under a contract between Ministry of Higher Education Employment and Social Security.
The Goal of training 70 Maldivian under the Employment Skills Training Project is to provide Maldivian youths with employment oriented skills training and to increase the number of Maldivian men and women, actively participating in the labor force in tourism and diving industry.
Villa Training Center located on the western end of Sun Island Resort and Spa has a fully equipped dive center, four class rooms and a decompression chamber facility with an accommodation facility for 45 candidates.
PADI Open Water, Advance Open Water, Emergency First Response, Rescue Diver and the Divemaster course will last 48 days under the direct supervision of PADI IDC Staff Instructor Hendrik Ackerman and Open Water Scuba Instructor Hussain Ali. A second batch of 08 will start on 2nd December. All 70 participants will be divided into 16 groups with the full program lasting 8 months.
